The Sueetie License Model will evolve but remain true to its GNU roots, like the applications that comprise it, ScrewTurn Wiki, Gallery Server Pro, BlogEngine.NET and YetAnotherForum.NET. Sueetie's core Open Source Online Community product is free and made possible by the
Sueetie Premium Edition.
Sueetie Community Edition
Each of the applications released with Sueetie (BlogEngine.NET, Gallery Server Pro, YetAnotherForum.NET and ScrewTurn Wiki) use the
GNU General Public License, so the Sueetie Free Community Edition uses the GNU General Public License as well. You are free to use Sueetie and the applications in Sueetie as long as you abide by the
GNU GPLv2 statements in use and redistribution.
If Open Source licensing terms are confusing for you, that's okay. Here are a few GNU GPLv2 essentials that may help.
- If you distribute copies of [Sueetie], whether gratis or for a fee, you must pass on to the recipients the same freedoms that you received. You must make sure that they, too, receive or can get the source code. And you must show them these terms so they know their rights.
- For the developers' and authors' protection, the GPL clearly explains that there is no warranty for this free software.
- The GNU General Public License does not permit incorporating your program into proprietary programs.
Sueetie Premium Edition
Sueetie Premium contains features not found in the Free Community Edition and supports three types of licenses: Small Business, Professional and Enterprise. The three premium offerings were created to support ongoing community growth in the following areas:
- Users
- CMS Pages
- Walls
- Marketplace Products
- Community Calendars
Sueetie Premium source code is proprietary and cannot be redistributed or used in any other application unless by commercial arrangement with Sueetie LLC. You can find a copy of the
Sueetie Premium Edition End-User Licensing Agreement here.Number of Sites supported by a Premium Edition License
A Sueetie Premium Edition License can be used on a single production site and any number of sites used in the support of that site for development, but not content creation or workflow processes. For instance, a single license is required for a public site with a staging site and one or more development sites. Conversely, each Sueetie site used in an enterprise for content creation or dissemination requires a site license.
Contact Sueetie Sales if you need to purchase multiple site licenses for your environment.
Sueetie Premium Licenses are domain-based, not server-based, so a license is required for each unique domain or sub-domain.
http://communitya.site.com and
http://communityb.site.com would require two licenses.
Finally, Sueetie Enterprise Edition supports being run in a subdirectory, which would make multiple communities on a single domain possible with some slight customization, therefore
http://site.com/communitya and
http://site.com/communityb would require two licenses. The Sueetie Premium License supports a single community per domain. Please
contact Sueetie Sales if you plan on building a multi-community site.
Applying Premium Edition and Booster Pack Licensing¶
A product key is no longer required to continue using the Sueetie Community Edition at the end of the 30-day trial period. At that point a Premium License must be obtained to continue using the premium features. See
Managing Your Premium Edition Licenses for details.
