How-To guide on how to create a YetAnotherForum.NET Forum Administrator as part of the Sueetie Site Setup Process.

Forum Administrators Are Important Persons in Sueetie

Not every Sueetie Community requires having a forum. My Sueetie-based business site at http://dbvt.com is one such example. But if your site has a YetAnotherForum.NET forum and you want to take advantage of the new Member Dashboard feature in Sueetie 2.0, then one of the first things you'll want to do when you setup your Sueetie Site is create a Forum Administrator with a non-admin user account. We'll walk through that process here.

The Admin Has The Ball

One of the first things you'll do after you complete the one-click site Installation process and fire-up Gummy Bear is login to the site as "admin" and look around a bit. YetAnotherForum.NET gives the "admin" supreme powers, so you'll use the "admin" account to get the ball rolling. Before you give a non-admin Forum Administrator permissions you first need to create the user, so let's create one either in Sueetie Administration or in another browser/session Join the new Community using the Sueetie Registration Page.

Our Forum-Administrator-To-Be's username is Rockman.

Configuring the Sueetie ForumAdministrator Role in YetAnotherForum.NET

Now, back in YetAnotherForum.NET we're going to modify our Sueetie ForumAdministrator Role to have YAF Administrator permissions. YAF's Administrator Role is "Administrators," and that's cool with us. In fact, YAF will be creating an "Administrators" role in our ASPNET_Roles which will display in Sueetie Administration and elsewhere. That's cool, too, and for all practical purposes we're going to ignore it here and in the future.

Let's make ForumAdministrator a full-fledged YetAnotherForum.NET administration role. The main item to check here is the "IsAdmin" checkbox. We'll want to add values for number of Personal Messages and so forth, but nothing else to concern ourselves with here.

Giving the user Administrative permissions

We're going to retrieve "Rockman" for final role assignment. Select "Users" in the side menu and click the "search" button.

First we're going to assign Rockman to the ForumAdministration Role.

Next we're going to give him "Administrator" rank and if we want to give him full host access to YetAnotherForum.NET's setup options make him a "Host Admin."

Now Rockman's got the juice.
