A description of the Wiki Page Tagging feature using the Sueetie Tag Control

Tags Everywhere: Wiki Pages

Wiki Page Tagging is now supported using the Sueetie Tag Control. Wiki Page Tagging is another example of how the Sueetie Framework adds functionality to an application not available out-of-the-box. This was the case with Gallery Server Pro Tagging and is the case with ScrewTurn Wiki, which is the best .NET-based Wiki available anywhere, but it does not have a tagging feature.

It must be noted that ScrewTurn has a robust Categorization feature and supports Keyword searching, so Sueetie is supplementing those already rich taxonomic functions with a more traditional tagging function. Sueetie Wiki Page Tagging is part of Sueetie's Global Tagging Architecture and fully integrated in Sueetie Search.

Managing Wiki Page Tags

Since we are using the Sueetie Global Tag Control that we can drop in on any site page, we decided to add tag management on the page itself rather than to the Page Editor. On any Wiki Page a user with the ability to edit the wiki page will see the Tag Edit Icon shown below. (For the initial Version 1.4 release, membership in the "ContentAdministrator" group enables Tag Editor status on Wiki Pages.)

When expanded the Tag Editor appears and functions exactly as elsewhere throughout Sueetie Applications.

Using Wiki Page Tags

Wiki Page Tags are integrated with Sueetie Global Tagging and Sueetie Search so that not only wiki page content for that tag is displayed, but content from all applications for the tag is displayed. The tagged content can be filtered using the Sueetie Search page's Application Filter.
